Basic Service $39 .95

The Basic Service is the mechanical equivalent of a doctor's medical. If you don't use your bike a great deal, the Basic Service is all you might require, so you will gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your gears change smoothly, and that your brakes work fine. The mechanic will not undertake any major investigative work at the Basic Service. The mechanic will however, highlight any obvious problems that would be noticeable within the scope of the Basic Service when they checks the bike over with you. We will also advise you if any parts need replaced. Naturally, the price of any new parts fitted will be added on to the price of the Basic Service.This is a basic service to check that your bike is safe for riding, and it involves the following:

Frame:
Frame checked for noticeable damage/cracks
Headset / steering adjusted
Bottom bracket checked for wear/movement - This involves removing the Right hand crank and checking the fixed cup
Rear mech/derailleur hanger checked for alignment

 Wheel System
Wheels are checked for spoke tension & trueness
Tyres & Rims are checked for damage/ware
Tyres inflated to recommended pressure
Q/R checked for proper adjustment (if fitted)

Brake System
Brake pads checked/replaced if necessary
Brakes lubricated & adjusted correctly
New cables installed if needed

 Gear System
Drive chain checked for wear/damage
Chain degreased & re-lubed
Gears adjusted correctly
New cables installed if needed

All work is based on the basic rate of $40.00 an hour.

Everything included in the Safety Service Plus:-
Full strip of cycle including hubs/bottom bracket
and headset

Checking and adjusting gears
Checking and adjusting brakes
Checking and inflating tyres
Stripping and regreasing all serviceable bearings
Truing wheels
Checking and tightening all nuts and bolts
Full road test

The Deluxe Full Service is the mechanical equivalent of being reborn. If you ride every day, we recommend that you treat your bike to an annual Deluxe Full Service. Similarly, if maintenance has been minimal over the years, a Deluxe Service will make the bike ride like new again. All parts of the bicycle are overhauled, new brake and gear cables are fitted, and all serviceable bearings are stripped, re-greased and new balls fitted. The Deluxe Service comes with a 6 month guarantee on the work carried out, and a one year warranty on new parts fitted. Again, the cost of any new parts required (including your choice of cables and bearings) will be highlighted by the mechanic when the bicycle is received, but these are not included in the price.
