OAK OPENINGS PRESERVE

5.3 miles of all-purpose trail
The largest park in the area with lots of rare plants and animals like
salamanders, frogs, birds and butterflies. A nature lovers delight.
Access: 4139 Girdham Road, Swanton (Entrances off Wilkins Road, SR 64 and SR 2)
or take the Wabash-Cannonball Trail.

OTTAWA PARK

Beatty/Jermain Parks Path - Parkside Avenue Path 5.8 miles
Big hills and good views of the golf course. Provides access to UT’s Scott Park Campus,
though the trail is a little bumpy and not as smooth as the UP trail.
Access: Bancroft Street and Parkside Avenue, Kenwood Street

PEARSON PARK

Oregon - 3 mile loop
Wonderful swamp-woodland views, excellent for enjoying spring and fall colors.
Access: Bike Route 20 from Downtown Toledo; 4600 Starr Ave. (entrance at Lallendorf Road and SR 2), Oregon.

SECOR PARK

6.1 miles of all-purpose trail (crushed limestone)
Good for biking when you need to be alone. Best time to bike is in late April and early May to catch the blooming wildflowers and dogwoods.
Access: 10001 W. Central Ave. and Killburn Road, or Bancroft Street (near Irwin Road).

SLIPPERY ELM TRAIL

Bowling Green - 13 miles, paved
Access: Sand Ridge Road in Bowling Green; Rudolph, Ohio; East Broadway in North Baltimore, Ohio

SWAN CREEK METROPARK

3.3 miles of all-purpose trail
A good trail for soaking up the sun. Lots of meadows and hills.
Access: 4659 Airport Highway or Glendale Avenue (between Eastgate and Byrne roads).

TOWPATH TRAIL

8.3 miles (stone) mountain/hybrid
Good for mountain biking, big vistas and great views of the Maumee River. Especially beautiful in May for bird watching and seeing redbuds in bloom.
Access: State Route 24 to Farnsworth Metropark (Waterville) and Providence Metropark (Grand Rapids).

UNIVERSITY PARKS TRAIL

6.3 miles
Less scenic a trail, but conveniently located to Wildwood, UT and Olander Park
Access: UT (near Southwest Academic Center), Bancroft and Richards Road, Central Avenue and Reynolds Road, King Road in Sylvania (between Central and Sylvania), Wildwood Park

WABASH-CANNONBALL TRAIL

19 miles, paved
You can see prickly-pear cactus, sand dunes and other beautiful scenery, especially in the summer and autumn months.
Access: Jerome Road in Maumee, near the Fallen Timbers Battlefield.

WILDWOOD PRESERVE

2.1 miles all-purpose
Conveniently connects to the UP trail and has some small hills to trek up. Sassafras trees provide
great yellows and deep reds in autumn.
Access: University Parks Trail, 5100 W. Central Ave.
